Registered Nurse – Infusion (Illinois)

JOB SUMMARY:

MedChoice Infusion provides comprehensive office infusion solutions and services to our partner physicians. The infusion therapies include biologics used in Rheumatology, Neurology, Immunology, Gastroenterology, and other specialty practices. We are looking for experienced part time and per diem registered nurses in several local markets.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care
  • Act as a liaison between physician group and MedChoice team to provide patient care
  • Prepare infusion medications for administration – Reconstituting & mixing medications, starting IVs, administering infusion medications, monitoring patients and charting notes.
  • Document all clinical assessment and required patient infusion and monitoring reports per infusion protocols
  • Provide prospective patient care through phone or email to check post-infusion status and address questions and concerns
  • Assist in medication and supply inventory and ordering plans
  • Follow all regulatory standards including OSHA, HIPAA, and infusion SOPs
  • Assist in patient scheduling
  • Participate in office infusion quality control and other initiatives
  • Perform other nurse duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Previous IV-experience is REQUIRED
  • Nursing degree, BSN preferred
  • Registered Nursing License with no disciplinary action
  • 2-5 years of relevant working experience to include infusion experience in acute or home infusion environment
  • Strong venous access skills
  • General knowledge of Microsoft Office, email and other basic computer skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Subject to license verification, criminal background check and drug screening
